How to Get IEC (Import Export Code) in Surat: Step-by-Step Guide

If you’re looking to get your IEC (Import Export Code) in Surat, here’s a comprehensive guide to help you complete the process seamlessly.

Step 1: Fill the IEC Application (ANF2A Form)

To begin, you need to fill out the ANF2A application form as per the prescribed format. Here’s how you can download it:

1. Go to the official DGFT website: www.dgft.gov.in
2. Click on “Downloads” and then select “Appendices & Aayaat Niryaat Form”.
3. The form will automatically download as a PDF. Navigate to page 364 (347) of the document to find the ANF2A form.
4. Complete all the required sections: Part A, B, C & D.

Step 2: Obtain the Bank Certificate

For the bank certificate (required for IEC), follow these steps:

• Get the bank certificate on your bank’s official letterhead.
• Paste the same photograph used in Part A.
• Ensure the bank manager signs over your photograph and stamps the certificate.
• Obtain a Central Bank Challan of Rs. 250 in duplicates (original + duplicate).

The DGFT Surat office does not accept DD, so make sure you use the Challan form 21A, which is available on page 206 (102) of the Handbook.

Step 3: Submit Documents at DGFT Surat

Ensure all of the following documents are prepared and self-certified:

• PAN Card
• Certificate of Incorporation
• Partnership Deed
• Memorandum

If you’re an Export Service Provider (such as a software company, CA firm, KPO), provide a description of your services separately and mention them in Part A (Field 4: Type of Exporter).

Additionally, keep the following documents ready:

• An extra photograph
• Self-addressed envelope (8X3) with a Rs. 25 postage stamp
• Bank address envelope (8X3) with a Rs. 25 postage stamp

Step 4: Visit the DGFT Office in Surat

Once your documents are ready, visit the DGFT office in Surat:
